FALCON HEIGHTS (AP) - The Minnesota State Fair is raising some admission prices this year.  The Fair has raised its gate admission prices by a dollar to $12 for an adult ticket. But the biggest hike is in kids' ticket prices, which jumped from $8 to $10.

A Fair spokeswoman says the price hike is meant to cover building improvements and maintenance at the Fairgrounds. The price of advance tickets stayed the same as last year, at $9. The cost of parking in a fairground lot is also up by $1, to $12.

The Minnesota State Fair runs from Aug. 25 to Sept. 5.
