Minnesota Snowmobiler Dies After Crashing Into Bridge
AMERY, Minn. (AP) - Amery police say a man who was snowmobiling on the Apple River has died after he crashed into a bridge.
Reports say 26-year-old James R. Luke of Amery died Saturday about 7 p.m.
A witness told authorities she saw a lone snowmobile driver was traveling on the Apple River toward the bridge. She says she heard a loud crash and saw the rider lying in the snow.
Authorities say Luke apparently tried to go under a bridge that didn't have enough clearance.
Police say alcohol isn't considered a factor in the crash.
