RICHFIELD, Minn. (AP) - A Minnesota police officer is on paid administrative leave during an investigation of a video that appears to show the officer pushing and striking a teen.

The Richfield Police Department said Tuesday the officer has been placed on leave pending the investigation.

The incident happened Saturday night. Nineteen-year-old Kamal Gelle says he was pulled over and given a citation for careless driving.

Gelle says he then got out of his car to talk on his phone. He says that's when the officer pushed him and hit him in the side of his head.

A Somali civil rights group asked for a meeting with the police chief. The department says Chief Jay Henthorne met Tuesday with Omar Jamal, chief executive of the Somali Human Rights commission, and members of the commission.
