Minnesota Named Fourth Most Bike-Friendly State
UNDATED - Minnesota is the fourth most bike-friendly state in the U.S.
The League of American Bicyclists says our state has retained it's spot that it first achieved last year. Minnesota was at number five the two previous years. Washington, Maine, and Wisconsin are the top three states.
The state boasts more than 600 miles of paved trails for bicycling managed by the Department of Natural Resources, and thousands of additional miles managed by national, regional, and local governments.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation says more than half of Minnesotans got on a bike last year.
