MINNEAPOLIS - After landing an upcoming Super Bowl and a Final Four, Minnesota is ready to push for its next big event: the 2023 World's Fair.

Organizers are preparing their bid for an event they hope will lure millions of tourists to see the latest in global technology and culture in the Twin Cities area. The last fair in the U.S. was in 1984.

Marilyn Carlson Nelson co-chairs the group planning the pitch. The former Carlson chairman and CEO still remembers the fairs she visited in the 1960s. Nelson says a fair in Minnesota would attract talented young professionals, investment opportunities and new ideas to the state.

Organizers say they haven't decided where such a fair would be in the Twin Cities. They'll submit the bid next year.
