UNDATED -- When you dig in to that Thanksgiving turkey tomorrow, chances are it came from right here in Minnesota.

Steve Olson is the Executive Director of the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association. He says we are the number one turkey producing and processing state in the U.S. with an estimated 49-million turkeys raised every year.

Olson says that's big business to Minnesota with an economic impact of about $800-million per year.

One reason Minnesota is the number one state for turkeys is our proximity to corn and soybeans...a turkey's main food source. We also have many 3rd and 4th generation growers in Minnesota and turkeys do well in our climate.
