ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Members of Minnesota's congressional delegation are pledging their continued support for military veterans.

The lawmakers spoke Tuesday at the state's official Veterans Day program in Inver Grove Heights.

U.S. Sen. Al Franken says the nation needs to do everything it can to help veterans and their families, including assistance with housing and employment.

Reports say Franken said veterans also need to receive the best possible medical care.

Earlier this week, Veterans Administration Secretary Robert McDonald announced plans for a massive restructuring of the VA system, including disciplinary action against more than 1,000 employees. The shake-up follows recent scandals over falsified records and veterans waiting for health care.

U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar says she plans to meet with McDonald to learn how the restructuring plan will affect Minnesota.
