ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota House Speaker Kurt Daudt says advocates of full liquor sales on Sundays can be assured that a vote will be held before the Legislature adjourns this year.

But the top Capitol Republican stopped short of guaranteeing an outcome in the perennial fight. Daudt says that he personally plans to vote in favor of the measure to lift a ban on liquor stores from opening seven days a week. He previously opposed the measure.

Past attempts to dump the ban have been soundly defeated. Minnesota is among a dozen states that have such a restriction on the books.

Gov. Mark Dayton says he would sign a Sunday sales authorization bill.
