ST. PAUL (AP) -- A Hennepin County corrections officer is among 11 people indicted by a federal grand jury on methamphetamine charges.

Reports say 26-year-old Ashley Mariakas of Owatonna is charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and two counts of distribution of methamphetamine.

Hennepin County spokeswoman Carolyn Marinan said Mariakas has been employed at the county's Adult Correctional Facility in Plymouth since January.

Marinan says Mariakas is still employed and is entitled to due process.

According the indictment, from January 2012 through September 2014, the defendants conspired to possess and distribute methamphetamine.

Nine defendants are from Owatonna.

One is from Rochester and one is from Fresno, California.
