UNDATED - Before you launch your boat into the water this year, you'll need to put a new sticker on it.

The DNR says a new required decal will help remind boaters of the state's aquatic invasive species laws.

The free decals are available from DNR offices, deputy registrar offices, sporting goods shops, and conservation officers.

The decal should be attached to all types of watercraft including canoes, kayaks, and duckboats.

There's no penalty in effect yet, but conservation officers can issue a warning.  After August 1st of 2014, it will be a petty misdemeanor for boaters who fail to display the decal.
