MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minneapolis police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy.

Officers found Nehemiah Steverson lying in the grass in north Minneapolis with a gunshot wound about 2 a.m. Sunday. He was rushed to Hennepin County Medical Center where he later died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Investigators canvassed the neighborhood and interviewed several people. Authorities are still looking for the shooter.

In a statement Monday, Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges offered her condolences to Steverson's family and friends, and said she is working with police to find those responsible for his death.
