MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minneapolis police are searching for a man they say abducted a 7-year-old girl and later released her.

Authorities say the girl was playing outside Saturday afternoon with her younger sister and two other children when a man approached and asked the children for help finding his puppy. Only the 7-year-old went with the man to look for the dog. One of the children went inside for help.

Police say officers arrived within minutes and relatives, friends and neighbors began searching for the girl. The grandmother of two of the children, Annette Beaty, says a neighbor was able to provide police with surveillance video which shows a man wearing a black jacket approach the children. Hours later at dusk, officers spotted the girl walking alone and returned her to her parents.
