MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minneapolis police are renewing efforts to find the hit-and-run driver who killed a bicyclist five years ago.

Lt. Chris Hudok says police have evidence that may help identify the SUV that struck and killed 65-year-old Jim Nisser in September of 2008. Hudok says paint chips at the scene led investigators to conclude Nisser was hit by a 1996 to 1998 light brown Jeep Grand Cherokee.

He says a body shop might recall working on such a vehicle back then. No witnesses ever came forward in the case. Police say it's possible the driver was intoxicated and panicked, but now may be ready to talk about the incident.
