Minneapolis Police Investigate Death of Man Inside Apartment

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minneapolis police are investigating the death of a man inside an apartment northwest of the city's downtown.

A 911 caller asked police to check the welfare of a man living in the apartment around 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Officers arrived and found the 49-year-old man dead of what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

The name of the victim was not immediately released.

The death is being investigated by the Minneapolis Police Department's homicide unit. Officers planned to talk to the man's neighbors.
