Minneapolis Man Gets 45 Years After Sex Assault of Infant
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A Minneapolis man convicted of sexually assaulting a 6-month-old girl and videotaping the abuse has been sentenced to 45 years in state and federal prison.
The 22-year-old man was sentenced last month to 25 years in federal prison on a child pornography charge. On Thursday, Hennepin County District Court Judge Daniel Mabley added more than 20 years in state prison for the sexual assault. The man will serve his state prison time after his federal sentence ends.
Reports are not naming the man to avoid identifying the victim, who is a relative.
Deputy Hennepin County Attorney David Brown called the case "one of the most repulsive" his office has seen. The criminal complaint says the man admitted he videotaped the assault under pressure from people on the Internet.
