Minneapolis Man Charged in Three Sexual Assaults
MINNEAPOLIS - A Minneapolis man is charged in connection with the rapes or attempted rapes of three women.
The Hennepin County Attorney's Office says 39-year-old Keith Eugene Washington was indicted on several counts in two separate attempted rapes of women on Dec. 6. If convicted on the first-degree attempted criminal sexual conduct charges he faces a mandatory life sentence because he's a repeat offender.
Prosecutors also charged Washington in the rape of a third woman in July.
Prosecutors say Washington was previously convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct in 2000 in a case where he choked a woman and raped her.
Washington was expected to make his first court appearance Friday. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney to comment on his behalf.
