MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minneapolis police say they're investigating a domestic dispute that left one man dead and another man in critical condition.

A police statement says officers responded just after noon Saturday to check on a man who was screaming for help. They found a man with serious injuries in front of a north Minneapolis home. It says an altercation inside the home resulted in both men "receiving substantial injuries from straight edge objects."

One man died a short time later at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. His name was not immediately released. The other man was in critical condition at the same hospital.

Police spokesman John Elder declined to describe the injuries or comment on what kind of weapons were used.
