ST. CLOUD - Its been a little over nine years now since Lindsay Walz' car went tumbling down into the Mississippi River during the 35W bridge collapse in Minneapolis.

On Tuesday she'll share her story here in St. Cloud.

When it cracked I fell about 120 feet, nose first, car into the water.  My car fell into the Mississippi and the water came into the cabin of my car. So by the time my car stopped moving I was faced with drowning.

Walz says she'll also focus on what she has accomplished since that day on August 1st, 2007.

That was really just a moment, and I've done a lot since then.  I have started a non profit to support young people on what might be their own healing journey, or just their own discovery of themselves.  I'll also be talking about my own healing journey and how I have come to what I would call a thriver after PTSD.

Walz says she wants to challenge professionals to push the pause button on standard procedures that lead to a culture of stress and overwork.

Walz is the keynote speaker at "The American Association of University Women" fundraiser. Money raised will be used to support local women and girls' initiatives.

Tuesday's event starts at 5:00 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott in downtown St. Cloud.
