GLYNDON, Minn. (AP) — A high school basketball player who collapsed during a game in western Minnesota remains in critical condition after undergoing heart surgery.

The Forum reported Friday night that Zach Gabbard was out of surgery. The paper cited a post on CaringBridge.org, a website used by family members to inform people about a patient's condition.

According to the update posted by the family after 8 p.m., a catheter was being used to monitor the pressure on Gabbard's brain. The post said he was "not out of the woods yet" and asked for thoughts and prayers.

The Perham player collapsed Thursday evening during a game at Dilworth-Glydon-Felton High School. A defibrillator was used on Gabbard before he was rushed to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, N.D.
