Michaela Elwood (Freese), 20, St. Cloud

December 6, 1995 - May 9, 2016

Michaela Elwood, age 20 of St. Cloud, died Monday May 9, 2016 in Hampton, Virginia. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Gethsemane Ronneby Lutheran Church. The Rev. Barb Peterson will officiate. Burial will be in the Ronneby Riverside Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Monday at the Foley Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. A Prayer Service will be held at 7 PM Monday evening.

Michaela Lucille Elwood was born December 6, 1995 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Gordon and Ruth Ann (Carver) Freese. Michaela graduated from Sartell High School in 2014. She married Alex Elwood on December 24, 2014 in Alexandria. The couple lived in Yorktown, St. Cloud and most recently Hampton, VA. Michaela was going to start college in Virginia next week. She enjoyed painting, creative writing and photography. Michaela loved people and was very social. She had a heart for animals and a passion for shoes, purses and a great cup of coffee. Michaela was an amazing saleswoman, a great listener, and was a positive and caring person. She was a member of Gethesame-Ronneby Lutheran Church in Ronneby.

She is survived by her husband, Alex Elwood of Villard, MN; father, Gordon Freese (Kathy Vogt) of St. Cloud; brother, Cody Freese of St. Cloud; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Scott & Susan Elwood of Villard; brother-in-law, Andy Elwood (Mary) of Willmar; sisters-in-law: Sydney Elwood of Villard, Savannah Elwood of Villard and Shay Elwood of Villard; grandmother, Margaret Freese of Oak Park; grandfather, George Carver (Helen) of Grants Pass, OR; uncles, John Carver of Long Beach, CA; Kenny Freese, Oak Park; Keith (Dinah) Freese, Oak Park; Terry (Tomsie) Freese, Gilman as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Michaela was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Ann Freese; grandfather, Melvin Freese; grandmother, Virginia Carver and uncle, Larry Freese.
