Metro Bus Sets New Ridership Record

ST. CLOUD -- A record number of people rode a Metro Bus in the St. Cloud Metro area this year.

Officials say their annual ridership numbers for fiscal year 2010, which ended on September 30th, reached nearly 2.4 million. That's an increase of .7% over last year.

Executive Director Dave Tripp says this is especially good news because traditionally reidership goes down when unemployment goes up.

St. Cloud Metro Bus also did better than the national average, which saw only a .1% increase in public transportation ridership.
