Merwina M. Theisen, 99, St. Cloud

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:30PM on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Merwina M. Theisen, 99, of St. Cloud who passed away peacefully at Sterling Park Healthcare Center in Waite Park on January 1, 2017. Rev. LeRoy Scheierl will officiate and burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud. Visitation will be two hours prior to services at church on Thursday. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Merwina was born May 13, 1917 in St. Cloud to Aloys and Anna (Dockendorf) Theisen. She worked in housekeeping for the St. Cloud Hospital Chaplain for 34 years, until her retirement in 1985. She was Holy and walked strongly in her faith and prayed for her family continuously. Merwina was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Merwina was the recipient of the Diocesan Bishop’s Medal of Merit in 1985. She enjoyed capturing family gatherings via photography; and was often referred to as the family historian. Merwina also enjoyed knitting, embroidery, and quilting. Most importantly, her family and extended family meant the world to her and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Merwina is survived by her brothers, Donald (Pat) of Des Lacs, ND, Gerald of St. Joseph, , LeRoy of St. Joseph; sisters-in-law, Gertrude Theisen of CA, Reneé Theisen of St. Cloud; brother-in-law, Chuck Donnay of St. Cloud; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Clarence, Adeline Kuechle, Joseph, Cordula, Walter, Kenneth, Roger, Aloys, Anna Donnay; and nephew, Michael Donnay.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
