COLD SPRING -- Cold Spring's Police Chief is getting another extension on his paid medical leave.

Chief Chris Boucher has been on paid medical leave since October. He was originally expected to return by October 31, that was extended to December 1 and now his medical leave has been approved until January 2, 2017.

The leave was approved under the Family Medical Leave act for paid medical leave in early October.

City Administrator Brigid Murphy says there have been no reports that Boucher is resigning from his position.

"All I can comment is that we have received notice of his approved leave and the basis for it has been extended to January 2nd and he's set to return that day."

Murphy also says Boucher is not under investigation.

If there were any changes to city staff, Murphy says it would be announced at the following council meeting.

"The next council meeting after any change happened is when I'd be informing the council after any changes."

Jason Blum is acting as interim police chief in Boucher’s absence. Boucher was hired as the police chief in June of 2014.
