Medical Coalition Identifies Unnecessary Tests [AUDIO]
ST. CLOUD — A national coalition of medical groups are banding together to identify unnecessary or overused tests and treatments often used in hospitals. Choosing Wisely is made up of over 350,000 doctors and formed by the American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation.
Over 90 tests and procedures are being identified to save money and also reduce possible harm to patients. The Medical Director at CentraCare Clinic, George Morris says unnecessary tests are ordered to protect both doctor and patient, alike.
