MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The mayor of Minneapolis says a new Minnesota Vikings stadium puts the city in a position to host another Super Bowl.

Mayor R.T. Rybak says Minneapolis put on a great show for the Super Bowl in 1992, and with a new, first-class stadium, it would be even better the second time around.

Convention Center officials say the Super Bowl is now an event that can last two weeks and pumps hundreds of millions of dollars into a local economy. An announcement on which city will get the Super Bowl in 2018 won't be made until the spring of next year.
