ST. CLOUD -- Stearns County Human Services is  looking for people interested in becoming foster care providers.

The month of May is national foster care month. There are about 50 foster care providers located in the St. Cloud area.

More options would help Stearns County keep kids in their same school district.

Licensing and Adoption Unit supervisor, Paul Weinmann says there is a growing demand for foster parents.

You must be able to pass a background check, be at least 21-years-old and have an established residence.

There is a cost associated with providing foster care. Stearns County does provide reimbursements for foster care providers to help cover some of the costs.

You can sign up for an orientation session on the Stearns County website.
