Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Thursday, June 23, 2016 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, St. Cloud for Mathew “Matt” L. Wagner, 95, of St. Cloud who passed away Tuesday at the VA Medical Center, St. Cloud. Rev. Thomas Knoblach will officiate and burial will be will full military honors at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls. Friends and family may call one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Mathew Leo Wagner was born on August 25, 1920 in St. Cloud to Paul and Anna (Hubble) Wagner. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. Mathew then married Rosemary Lehmeier in 1955. He worked for Cold Spring Granite Company for 37 years and in 1982 he retired at the age of 62. He was a proud member of the VFW post 428, St. Augusta American Legion 621, and St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. He enjoyed cutting wood, reading, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a very straight forward man. Mathew was involved in the honor guard and was proud to be a veteran of the U.S. Army. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Mathew is survived by his wife, Rosemary; sons, Robert (Dorothy) of Clearwater, Jim (Kim) of St. Cloud, Scott (Amy) of Maple Grove, and Mark (Heidi) of Clear Lake; and 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Hubert G. Wagner of Kimball.
