Math was born in Spring Hill to Leo and Eleanor (Wuertz) Lieser. He married Mary Lou Henry on June 26, 1962 in St. Paul’s Church, Sauk Centre. Math served in the Army National Guard as a cook. He was a long distance truck driver and retired from The Cold Spring Brewery. His 10 grandchildren were the light of his life. He enjoyed woodworking, and going to the casino with Mary Lou. Math loved to tease and joke around with others. In the past he was very active in AA and just received his 33 year medallion for sobriety.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Lou; children, Marcia (Curt) Spoden, Marjorie (Mike) Spaeth, Mark, and Marty; sisters, Lilian (Walter) Welle, Mary Ann (Eldred) Athmann, and Irene Sunderman; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elaine Hoff; brother-in-laws, Gerry Hoff, and Bill Sunderman.

We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Math’s wonderful neighbors for all of their help, Sherry and Shari from St. Croix Hospice, Deacon Larry Sell, and a special “Thank You” to one of Math’s favorite people Dr. Chris Wenner, your medical and personal care for Math was above and beyond.
