Mary L. Colville, 84, Rice

September 2, 1932 - January 21, 2017

A Gathering will be held from 3-6 PM Monday, January 30, 2017 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids for Mary L. Colville, age 84, who passed away peacefully at her residence in Rice. Burial will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 1:05 PM.

Mary was born September 2, 1932 in Ottuma, Iowa to Alva & Jewel (Loving) Savidge. Growing up in Iowa, she attended Iowa State where she met the love of her life, Lloyd H. Colville. She married Lloyd January 12, 1951 in Agency, Iowa. Mary raised their 6 wonderful kids and is described as the glue that held the family together. She later went on to be a tax preparer and owned Southwest Tax Services for many years. Mary loved to spend time with family and friends, canning, entertaining, going to the casino, and watching western movies particularly John Wayne. She lived in many states and her fondest was Colorado, the other was on the Horseshoe chain of lakes in Richmond MN where she made and kept many life long friends. Mary is described as being always full of life, smart and witty, most of all very loved by her family.

Mary is survived by her children, Cathy Gary of Helendale, CA, Connie (Larry) Kane Basgal of Little Falls, MN, Cindy (Dan) Sjolseth of Burnsville MN, Sandy Peters of St. Cloud, MN, Linda (David) Marshall of Rice, MN, Patrick (Courtney Johnson) Colville of St. Cloud MN; brother, Robert Savidge of Mount Holly, NJ; 3 nephews and 1 niece; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; parents and grandparents.
