Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph, for Mary J. Wensmann, age 72, of St. Joseph, who passed away on Sunday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Jerome Tupa, OSB, will officiate. Burial will take place in the new parish cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and after 9:30 a.m. on Thursday all at Heritage Hall in St. Joseph. Parish prayers will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph.

Mary was born on December 3, 1941 in New Munich, Minnesota to Joseph and Marie (Kohorst) Viere. She graduated from Melrose High School. Mary married Lawrence “Larry” Wensmann on June 5, 1962 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich. She worked at Fingerhut for over 20 years. Mary was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph, the V.F.W. # 428 Auxiliary, and the St. Joseph Sno Joe’s.

She enjoyed camping and traveling. Mary’s pride and joy was her family and all the time spent with them.

Mary is survived by her husband; children, Cheryl (Ronald) Meier of Deer Park, WI, Lois (James) Vouk of St. Cloud, Greg (Karla) of Avon, Ryan (Nicole) of St. Joseph, Janel (Kevin) Krueger of Deer Park, WI; grandchildren, Michelle, Melissa, Melanie, David, Daniel, Kari, Anthony, Courtney, Paige, Josie, Grant, and, Landen; great-grandchildren, Gracie, Tyler, Kylie, Anna, Teagan, and Jaxson; brothers and sisters, Ardell (Lavern) Goebel, Kenneth (Arlene) Viere, Dorothy (David) Schulzetenberg, Joe (Connie) Viere, Kathy (Richard) Winter, Kevin (Ann) Viere; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Special Thank You to the Oncology Staff on the fifth floor at the St. Cloud Hospital for all the care given to Mary and her family.
