Mary C. Schwalbe, 81, Avon

November 19, 1933 - May 9, 2015

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00AM Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Anna for Mary C. Schwalbe, 81, of Avon, who died Saturday at Good Shepherd Community, Sauk Rapids. Rev. Gregory Mastey will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may call from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 and one hour prior to services on Thursday all at the church. Christian Woman will pray at 6:30 followed by parish prayers at 7:00PM.

Mary was born on November 19, 1933 in St. Anna to Louis and Anna (Nentl) Streit. She married Alfred “Fritz” Schwalbe on November 28, 1957 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Anna. Mary was a nurse at the St. Cloud Hospital prior to her marriage to Fritz. Her hobbies included sewing, baking, quilting and collecting nic- nacs and bingo. Mary’s main goal as a mother was to raise her children in the catholic faith and being involved with the church. Her family meant the world to her along with her faith. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Alfred “Fritz”; children, Dan (Kathy) Schwalbe of Hamel, Tony (Nancy) Schwalbe of Avon, John (Carolyn) Schwalbe of Pittsburgh, PA, George (Jenny) Schwalbe of Avon; daughter in law, Mary Jo Schwalbe of Fargo; son in law, Bill Prince of St. Joseph. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; children, Robert Schwalbe, Casper Schwalbe, Yvonne Prince, Betty Ann Schwalbe; siblings, Val, LouAnn and Ramona.
