Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Mary A. Pfeffer, age 89 of St. Cloud who passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Arlington Place in St. Joseph. Reverend Gregory Lieser will officiate. Burial will take place in Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9:30 a.m. on Friday at the Church. Parish Prayers will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.

Mary was born on March 30, 1925 in Clarissa, Minnesota to Joseph and Ursula (Smaleck) Thrun. She married Henry “Vincent” Pfeffer on August 19, 1947 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Clarissa. Mary was a homemaker the majority of her life. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Resurrection Choir, Mission Group, Christian Women, and also volunteered heavily with the church. Mary was also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary #622, VFW Auxiliary Unit #428, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and RSVP, as well as volunteering at Birthline and the St. Cloud Hospital Gift Shop.

Mary loved listening to music, singing, whistling and dancing. She enjoyed playing scrabble, going for walks and nature. She greatly treasured all the time spent with her family.

She is survived by her children, Sheila Dodge of St. Joseph, Gerald (Barb) Pfeffer of Oro Valley, AZ, Jan Berney of Shelton, WA, Linda (Tom) Tingblad of Ramsey, and MaDonna (Brett) Shafer of Aurora, CO; grandchildren, Daren Dodge, Kelly Dodge, Brady Dodge (Holly), DebbieThompson (Brandon), James Pfeffer, Kristin Tingblad, Matthew Tingblad, Feryn Shafer, and Alicia Shafer; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Josephine Ellingsworth of Amery, WI; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; children, Theresa, Ronald, Francis; granddaughter, Heidi; sisters, Julia, Polly, and Maggie; brothers, Stanley, Albert, Benny, and one infant brother; daughter-in-law, Stacie; and son-in-law, Peter.
