Funeral Service will be held at 11 am, Friday, April 10, 2015 at the Joy Christian Center, St. Cloud for Marvel L. Payne, age 74, of Sauk Rapids, formerly of Burtrum, who passed away on Tuesday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, Sauk Rapids. Pastor Tim Lambert will officiate and burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Annandale. Family and friends may call from 4-8 pm Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids, and one hour prior to services at the Joy Christian Center.

Marvel Linnea Langmade was born April 11, 1940 in Burns Township, Anoka County, Minnesota, the daughter of Merle and Marie (Westlin) Langmade. She grew up in Burns Township and graduated from St. Francis High School in 1958. She married Roland Payne on November 7, 1959 in the Burns Free Church. They farmed in several areas including Elrosa, Annandale, and Eagle Bend. They later moved to Burtrum. She worked as an activities aide at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls. In 2011, she moved to Sauk Rapids.

Marvel attended Brighter Days Family Church in Burtrum. She was a very hard worker, excellent gardener, baker, and cook, and kept a neat and well-kept home. She enjoyed watching TBN, taking long walks, and spending time with her family. She was a woman of strong faith and a true “prayer warrior”. She was always there with a hug and often told her grandchildren that she loved them “piles & piles”.

Marvel is survived by her children, Todd (Kelly) Payne, Park Rapids; Shawn Payne, Swanville; and Heather (Mark) Vait, Foley; daughter-in-law, Anna Payne, Burtrum; grandchildren, Kylee, Cameron, Landon, Bailee, Samuel, Natalie, Damian, Chelsey, Christian, Dylan, Cullen, Brady, Alexander, Kaiden, and Skyler; great-grandchildren, Riley, Addison, and Jaxen; siblings, Loella (Bernie) Nass, Stillwater; Verona Loven, Coon Rapids; Janice (Chuck) Wefel, Minneapolis; Karen (Lawren) Ingalls, Elk River; Gary Langmade, Elk River; Linda (Owen) Davis, Minneapolis; Jerry (Eleanor) Langmade, Ramsey; Marv Langmade, Minnepolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roland, sons, Jason “Jake”, and Mark, and siblings, twins Melvin and Calvin, and Sonnia.
