Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Avon, for Marie M. Zwilling, age 95, of Avon, who died on Monday at her residence. Rev. Blane Wasnie, OSB will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church and one hour prior to mass on Saturday at the church in Avon. Parish prayers will be prayed at 4:15 PM and Christian Women will pray at 7:00 PM Friday at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Avon.

Marie was born August 11, 1919 in Freeport to John and Katherine “Katy” (Hoffman) Duclos. She married Joseph Zwilling, Sr. on June 13, 1940 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. Marie had a passion for cooking and carried that into her chosen careers; caring for Dr. Lafond’s family, working as a cook for the Avon Elementary School, and cooking for guests at Fisher’s Club. She was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Christian Women, and Senior Dining. Marie found great therapy in baking, cooking, and quilting. She was kind, compassionate, and independent; and family meant the absolute world to Marie.

Marie is survived by her children, Nick (Kathy) of St. Cloud, Ron (Pat) of GA, Ken (Pam) of AZ, Mark (Bernie) of Champlin, Mike (Pat) of Avon; daughter-in-law, Joan of Avon; siblings, Leona Wiehoff of St. Cloud, Ed (LaVern) Duclos of Freeport, Hubert Duclos of Minneapolis; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband; son, Joe; siblings, Barbara, Tony, Sr. Gudulia Duclos OSB, Joseph, William, Henry, Al, Larry, and John.
