Marie K. Hasselfeldt, age 76, St. Cloud, MN died Friday, December 19, 2014 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House, St. Augusta, MN surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be Monday, December 22, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN at a later date.

Marie was born May 14, 1938 in Redwood Falls, MN to Karl and Johanne (Sorensen) Knudsen. They later moved to Eagle Lake, MN She attended Mankato State College. Marie married Nicholas “Nick” J. Hasselfeldt on August 23, 1958 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Mankato, MN. They made their first home in Staples, MN and moved to St. Cloud in 1967. She was employed at JC Penney for 20 years retiring in 1993. Marie enjoyed spending time with family and friends both in Minnesota and winters in Arizona. She was a great supporter of her grandchildren attending their many activities. An avid hockey fan, she enjoyed cheering for her grandchildren as well as the SCSU Huskies. She was blessed with many talents and shared them with others through the beautiful cards and quilts she made as well as the dozens of delicious Christmas cookies baked each year. Her faith was important to her, she was a long time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, MN. She was a caring and giving person with a beautiful smile.

Survivors include her husband, Nick Hasselfeldt of St. Cloud, MN; daughters, Susan Schnabel; Brenda (Donny) Preusser; Mary (Dave) Thompson; Karen (Jeff) Althaus all of St. Cloud, MN; Julie (Ed) Laudenbach of St. Michael, MN; Kurt (Dede) Hasselfeldt of Plymouth, MN; 14 grandchildren, Jen Schnabel, Cristen (Chris) Dilks, Megan Tschida, Shannon (fiancee Kyle Edelbrock) Tschida, Brent Preusser, Jillene Preusser, Becky Preusser, Cole (Emily) Laudenbach, Katie Laudenbach, Emily Laudenbach, Austin Althaus, Nick Althaus, Noah Althaus, Max Hasselfeldt and 4 great grandchildren, Rylee Tschida, Logan Tschida, Lincoln Tschida and Matthew Dilks; brothers, Arlyn (Debbie) Knudsen of Lakeland, FL; Ken (Pat) Knudsen of Glenwood, MN; Glenn (Liz) Knudsen of Richmond, VA.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials are preferred to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Quiet Oaks Hospice House, ALS Association Minnesota/North Dakota/South Dakota Chapter or St. Cloud Salvation Army.

Pallbearers will be Donny Preusser, Dave Thompson, Jeff Althaus, Ed Laudenbach, Brent Preusser, Cole Laudenbach, Austin Althaus, Nick Althaus and Noah Althaus.
