Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Mayhew Lake for Marie J. Czech, 78 of Sartell who passed away peacefully, with great dignity, on Wednesday evening after a long, hard road with Alzheimers, surrounded by her loving family. Rev. Thomas Becker will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may call one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Marie was born on December 2, 1938 in St. Cloud to Frank and Genevieve (Malinowski) Walcheski. She was married to William Czech and they later divorced. Marie was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Mayhew Lake and involved in Christian Mothers. She worked as a CNA and as a volunteer at Country Manor. She enjoyed walking, gardening, reading, puzzles, traveling to Alaska, birds, celebrating holidays and spending time with her family. Marie was a huge Minnesota Twins fan, was kind, caring and strong willed. She was an independent woman who was honest, generous and devoted to her family and her faith. Marie will always be remembered for her bright smile and dimples.

Survivors include her sons and daughters, Kevin of Sauk Rapids, Lynn (Craig) Solt of Rice, Carleen (David) Guck of Elk River and Lyle (Barbara) of Maple Grove; grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) Waldoch, Kyle Guck and Rachel Guck; brothers and sister, James (Joyce) Walcheski of Foley, John (Lynette) Walcheski of Oak Park and Lilly (Dave) Czech of Alaska; sisters-in-law, Loretta Przybilla of Pierz and Robyn Walcheski of Mora; and brother-in-law, Francis Bastin of Sartell. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Irene Bastin and Lorraine Chapp; brother, Jerry Walcheski; and brothers-in-law, Louie Chapp and Roderick Przybilla.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of St. Benedict’s Senior Community and to St. Croix Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to Marie.
