Marian M. Skudlarek, 89, Rice

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Church in Rice for Marian M. Skudlarek, age 89, who passed away at Life Care Center, Sedro Woolley, WA. Rev. Virgil Helmin will officiate and burial will be at the Parish Cemetery. Friends and family may gather from 4-8 p.m. at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to services on Monday at the church in Rice. Parish Prayers will be at 7pm at the funeral home on Sunday. Marian was born April 26, 1928 to Joseph and Wilhelmina (Huschle) Smoley in St. Stephen. She was united in marriage to Ervin Skudlarek on August 5, 1950 at St. Stephen Church. Together they farmed in Clear Lake and eventually enjoyed living on Little Rock Lake. Marian recently lived with her daughters Kathy and Christie at Sedro Woolley, WA. Marian loved cooking chicken gizzards, sauerkraut, dumplings and ribs; gardening, crafting and fishing. She also enjoyed playing cards and games. Marian treasured her salt and pepper collection and her large doll collection. She valued her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she loved spending time with them! Marian will be greatly missed by all her loved ones. She is survived by her children, Sharon Manks of St. Cloud, Valentine (Butch) (Marlys) of Rice, Christie (Mike) Petersen of Burlington, WA., Daniel (Lisa) of Laporte, and Laurie Alligah of Oakdale; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and brother, Richard (Sandy) Barthelemy of Annandale. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ervin on July 17, 1997; daughter, Kathy Huben; brothers and sister, Casper, Jerome, Harold and Leroy Smoley, and Alice Lobb.
