Marguerite M. Fogarty, 96, St. Cloud

April 20, 1918 - March 11, 2015

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Marguerite “Marge” M. Fogarty, 96, of St. Cloud who died Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Rev. Thomas Knoblach will officiate and burial will be at Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud. Friends and relatives may call from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM at the church.

Marge was born on April 20, 1918 in St. Cloud to William and Henrica (Albers) Petters. She married Robert J. Fogarty in 1944. Marge graduated from the College of St. Benedict, St. Joseph in 1940 with a degree in music. She went on to teach music and elementary education in Foley, MN, White Bear Lake, MN and South Bend, IN. She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, St. Cloud. She enjoyed reading and music and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Marge is survived by her children, Robert (Chris) Fogarty of Savannah, GA, Bill (Kathy) Fogarty of Thief River Falls, MN, John Fogarty of Northfield, MN, Peggi Fogarty of St. Joseph, MN, and Anne (Steve) Oberman of St. Cloud, MN; brother, Karl (Karleen) Petters of Avon, MN; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; daughter-in-law, Mary; brothers, William and Fredric Petters; sisters, Lorraine Dieckmann and Mary Louise McClain.

Memorials are preferred to the College of St. Benedict.
