Margie was born in Cold spring to John and Marjorie (Bell) Danzl. She married Lloyd Kiess on July 3, 1954 in St. Cloud, MN. Margie’s family and friends meant everything to her. She treated everyone who walked through her door as a valued family member and welcomed them with homemade cakes or a four course meal. She was an avid gardener, cross word puzzle enthusiast, reader, star gazer and bird watcher. Her work ethic was impeccable; she would “punch out” of her retail job and return to complete any unfinished work for the day. She modeled this behavior and instilled a strong ethic in each of her children and grandchildren.

She will be remembered by all who knew her for her generosity, selflessness, loyalty, intelligence, strong determination, and desire to mentor her children and grandchildren through example and gentle guidance. Margie left the world a better place and had a profound impact on all that she touched. She was a member of Christian Mothers.

Survivors include her children, Mary Jo (Paul) Morrison, John Kiess, Carol Mueller, Ann Hansen (Jason), and Jim Kiess; grandchildren, Angela Mueller, Nikki Kiess, Hayley Morrison, Brandt Hansen, Danny Kiess, Tanner Morrison, and Caelin Hansen; sister, Betty Schwindel; and her beloved dog, Komo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; children, Robert, and Baby Kiess; ex-husband, Lloyd, and brother-in-law, Gilbert Schwindel.

Memorials are preferred to Bobshelpinghands.org.
