Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Richmond MN for Margaret “Marge” Janssen, age 94, who died Friday, July 28, 2017 at Assumption Nursing Home in Cold Spring.

A gathering of friends and family will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2017 at the Wenner Funeral Home, Richmond. Parish Prayers will be at 4:00 p.m followed by a rosary. Visitation will continue from 9:00 – 10:45 a.m. Tuesday morning at the funeral home.

Margaret was born on May 23, 1923 to Michael and Theresia (Utsch) Jacobs in St. Martin Township. She married Leonard Janssen on October 17, 1944 at the St. Martin Catholic Church, they were blessed with 4 children. They were married for 50 years and enjoyed traveling, music, and dancing. After the children were grown she worked as a catering cook for Jerry’s Supper Club for 4 years and then The Great Blue Heron retiring in 2008. Marge enjoyed crocheting, quilting, crossword puzzles, reading, traveling, cards, and cherished time spent attending the activities of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Catholic Order of Foresters, Catholic United Financial, Little Flower Mission Group, Crosier Apostolate, Holy Rosary Society of St. Martin, and Golden Smiles Senior Club.

She is survived by her children, Judy (Gilbert) Bruemmer, Gerald (Millie) Janssen, Carol Klein, Brenda (Nate) Johnson, in-laws, Dorie Jacobs, Helen Jacobs, and many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard in 1995; parents Michael and Theresia Jacobs; brothers and sisters, Mathew Jacobs, Otillia Kalthoff, Anna Kalthoff, Gustav Jacobs, Gertrude Kalthoff, Catherine Dingmann, Norbert Jacobs, Leo Jacobs, Bernadine Hinnenkamp, and Bernard Jacobs; and grandson-in-law, Brian Erickson.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
