Margaret Kinzer, age 88, of Rice, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer.

Mass of Christian Burila will be 10:30 AM Friday, January 8, 2016 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Gilman. The Rev. Leo Moenkedick will officiate. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 Thursday at the Foley Funeral Home in Foley and one hour prior to the service at the church. Christian Mother's Rosary will be 6 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home.

Margaret Kinzer was born April 28, 1927 in St. Martin, Minnesota to Peter and Mary (Mohs) Schaefer. She married Ervin Kinzer on May 3, 1950 at St. Martin Catholic Church, St. Martin, MN. The couple farmed together in the Rice and Foley area all their married life. Margaret was a member of the SS. Peter & Paul Christian Mother's and United Catholic Financial. She enjoyed her flowers and gardening as well as mowing lawn on the rider as recent as this past summer and fall. She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Memorial are preferred in lieu of flowers.

She is survived by her daughter and sons; Kathy (Merle J.) Felling, Sauk Centre; Robert and Kenneth, Rice, 4 grandchildren; Merle C. (Sharee), Michael, Brenda (Patrick) Jennissen and Bonnie (Paul) Radjenovich, 6 great grandchildren; Maizlyn, Livia, Quinncy, Graham, Gabrielle and Konnor, sister, Mary Ann Lauer, brother, Matt and sister-in-laws, Mary Jane Schaefer and Alice Schaefer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin January 8, 2009, great granddaughter, Elsie Kristen and brothers; Henry, Frank, Norbert, Nick, Benedict and Herman and sisters; Clara Burg, Susan Kuhl and Gertrude Hellman.
