Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud, MN for Margaret Ann Schluender, age 72, who died at her home in St. Cloud, MN on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. The Reverend Thomas Knoblach will be the celebrant. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Osakis, MN. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 pm on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 5:00 pm on Monday at Daniel Funeral Home.

Margaret was born June 15, 1942 to Aloysius and Caroline (Burgener) Hoffman in Eugene, OR. She met her husband Ray Schluender of Osakis, MN through the Catholic Church Extension Society. Margaret and Ray were married on October 1, 1963 at St. Alice Catholic Church in Springfield, OR. They settled in Osakis, MN and farmed the family farm until 1967. She lived in Sauk Centre, MN from 1967 to 1974, then in St. Cloud, MN until her death.

Margaret was a stay at home mother all her life. She had seven children: two miscarried babies she named David and Charlotte, Mary in 1966, Anne in 1968, Rachel in 1969, Daniel in 1972, and Joe in 1979. She tried to live a good Catholic Christian life, doing charity work and volunteering. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and their Catholic Church Eucharistic Adoration Society.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ray, in St. Cloud, MN; her children Mary (Mark) Solland in Sauk Rapids, MN, Anne in St. Cloud, MN, Rachel (Ted) Schluenderfritz in Littleton, CO, Daniel (Raelene) in Weston, WI, and Joe (Michele) in Minneapolis, MN; her sisters Aileen Lyman in Eugene, OR and Linda (John) Franklin in Creswell, OR and her brother Bob in Eugene, OR; and her grandchildren Malcolm, Bernadette, Sebastian, Tyler, Matthew, Laura, Charlotte, Martin, Zachary, Timothy, Joshua, Elizabeth, Melanie, Teddy, Benjamin, Maria, Lucy, Nicholas, Marisa, Colman, Leo, and Kathleen.

She also leaves behind her sisters and brothers-in-law on the Schluender side: Loretta Becker in Osakis, MN, Bob (Ardella) in Osakis, MN, Leo (Pat) in Minneapolis, MN, and Richard (Judy) in Blaine, MN, Barbara Schluender in Zimmerman, MN, and Deacon Lawrence Kaas in Sauk Centre, MN; 47 nephews and nieces; and many great-nephews and nieces.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her two miscarried babies.
