Marcus Theatres To Broadcast Gopher Football Games On Big Screen

WAITE PARK -- Movies are not the only thing you will be able to watch at Marcus Theatres in Waite Park.

The movie theatre has installed Direct TV into one of their projectors to broadcast live events.

General Manager Ben Reiners says they've had the ability to do some live event broadcasts already but this opens up a whole new door.

"The possibilities are really endless. We could have Oscar parties, Academy Awards, Emmy's all that kind of stuff that has a broad appeal," says Reiners.

At the moment, the plan is to show the Gopher football games for the rest of the season.

Reiner says the games will be held in their smallest auditorium so seating is limited.

"It's a first come first serve basis, it is also available to rent out if you wanted to do a private event we could rent it out to you for a fee," says Reiner.

Admission is free and the first broadcast will be the Gophers verse Michigan at 6:00 p.m. on October 31st.
