Marcy was born on October 17, 1930 in Holdingford, Minnesota to Nicholas Philipsek and Mary (Wolney) Philipsek. On November 7, 1953, she was united in marriage to Wallace “Wally” Brown at the Cathedral of St. Paul. They celebrated 63 years of marriage. The two were long time members of the Church of St. Augustine in St. Cloud. Marcy worked as a registered nurse at the St. Cloud Hospital and St. Cloud VA Hospital over 40 years. Marcy had a passion for traveling, both within the United States and other countries. She played a daily game of cribbage with her husband, Wally. Marcy was a member of a Bridge group for 40 years, an avid reader, and enjoyed taking walks every day. Marcella always had music in the background while she was reading or playing cards. She loved to bake and test out new recipes. Marcy and her family always looked forward to spending time together at their cabin on Fish Trap Lake. It was an especially good day at the cabin if dinner included fresh walleye from the lake followed by a tart rhubarb pie with ice cream.

Survivors include her sons and daughters, Kevin (Dale) of College Park, MD, Carol of Sauk Rapids, Bruce of Sauk Rapids, Marlene (David) Hay of Centennial, CO, Lori (Kevin) Christoffer of Lakeville and Jim (Beth) of Elk River; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wally; siblings, Millie, John, Mary, Katie, Joseph, Nicholas, Frank, Dorothy, Bernadette, Rita, Viola; and grandson, Matthew Brown.
