Marcella “Marcy” L. Gammell, 96, Sauk Rapids

Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:30PM Monday, May 11, 2015 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, St. Cloud for Marcella L. Gammell, 96, of Sauk Rapids, who died Wednesday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Al Stangl will officiate and burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud. Friends and relatives may call from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to services on Monday at the church. Daughters of Isabella will pray at 4:00PM followed by St. Paul’s parish prayers at 5:00PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Marcella was born on April 2, 1919 in St. Paul to Dr. Charles and Mary L. (Eue) Zwicky. She married James M. Gammell on May 22, 1943 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in St. Paul. Marcella liked playing cards and bowling. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an avid flower gardener. Marcella is a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella and also a member of T.O.P.S.

She is survived by her loving husband, James of over 71 years; children, James Jr. of Aiken, SC, John (Virginia) of St. Cloud, Mary Lynne (Paul) Goenner of Clear Lake, Barbara (George) Peyla of St. Paul, Philip (Terese) of St. Michael and David of St. Cloud; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother , Dr. Robert (Betty) Zwicky of Minneapolis and sister, Audrey Godfrey of Crosby.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael; daughter, Ann Elizabeth; brother, Rev. Richard Zwicky; sister, Marie Liberko.
