DULUTH, (AP) - A property manager in St. Louis County was trying to clear out junk in a Duluth nursing home a few years ago when he came across dusty bags filled with old photos.

Instead of tossing them, Matt Seppo went on a mission to return them to as many families as he could - on his own time.

Seppo used phone books, Google and a genealogy website to track down families.

In one case, he found the only living relative of a man named Irving Hunter of Duluth. Hunter died in 1947. Seppo used the Internet and 1940 Census records to get some clues and locate Mickey Hunter in Cloquet.

Mickey Hunter says it was thoughtful of Seppo to find him and preserve the photos.
