BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (AP) - Hennepin County authorities say a man's body recovered from the Mississippi River over the weekend appears to have been there for some time.

The sheriff's office received a report Saturday about 6 p.m. of a body spotted in the river. Authorities found it after an hour of searching.

The body was taken to the medical examiner's office for identification.

Deputies say the discovery was unrelated to an earlier call of a pontoon boat in distress. The boat was found but it wasn't in danger.
