Man’s Body Recovered After Downtown Brainerd Apartment Fire
BRAINERD, Minn. (AP) - Firefighters have recovered the body of a man hours after a fire broke out in his apartment in downtown Brainerd.
Brainerd Fire Chief Kevin Stunek says the body was taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's office for identification.
Firefighters were called around 3 a.m. Tuesday. The building houses a law office on the main floor and two apartments on the second floor.
Attorney Dennis Lothspeich, who co-owns the building, tells reporters they rent the upstairs apartment to two tenants. He says one of the tenants was able to escape.
