HASTINGS, Minn. (AP) - A Minnesota man accused in a cold-case homicide that happened more than 30 years ago isn't fighting efforts to extradite him to Texas.

Robert A. Otteson appeared in a Dakota County court Thursday. He gave a reassuring smile and a wave to crying loved ones, and then waived objections to his extradition.

The 53-year-old was arrested in Lakeville on Tuesday, after he was indicted in Denton County, Texas.

He's charged with intentional murder in the 1983 death of Francisco Narvaez. The 42-year-old San Antonio man was found stabbed to death in a Denton motel room.

Court records say authorities linked Otteson to the crime through advanced DNA and fingerprint technology not available back then.

His Minnesota defense attorney, Tyler Bliss, declined to comment.
