Man Wanted on Felony Warrant Arrested in Sartell

SARTELL -- A Rice man is jailed on an outstanding warrant after an early morning arrest in Sartell.

Police say an officer spotted a car in a business parking lot in the 100 block of 7th Street North at 5:45 a.m. Thursday. The officer felt it was uncommon to see someone parked there at that hour.

Police ran a license plate check and learned the driver had a felony warrant out of St. Louis County for electronic solicitation of children.

The officer made contact with the driver who gave a false name. Police were able to identify the driver as 34-year-old Phillip Adkins. Adkins ultimately admitted he gave a false name because of the warrant.

He's being held in the Stearns County Jail until he can be transferred to St. Louis County.
